17th IPCA World Chess Championship for Disabled, Slovakia

Three Golds, one Bronze for the Indians at Slovakia was on the back of a strong performance in the 17th IPCA World Chess Championship for Disabled.
Woman International Master Jenitha Anto of Tirchy won her fifth world title in style with a round to spare. Shasikant Kutwal became the World Disabled Champion 2017 and also became and International Master. Sammarth J Rao who won Bronze in the junior got the Gold in the blitz junior section.
Shasikant Kutwal was received at the Pune airport when he returned from Slovakia. Joseph D’Souza and R Konde, President and Secretary of the Pune District Chess Association felicitated Shasikant Kutwal at the airport. The last round was spectacular. Indians played on boards one, two and three! noted Kanickai Irudayaraj.
